Frequently asked questions
Do you publish prices?
No. We are a wholesale distributor and every order is quoted. Send item codes and quantities (or use the quote basket on this site) and we reply with a written quote that includes specifications, certification status, lead time and delivery.
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
MOQ depends on the product and the factory. Many lines can start with a low-MOQ trial order, and we can often combine several products into one shipment to reach factory minimums. Your quote shows the MOQ for each item.
What are your lead times?
Lead time depends on whether an item is in stock, allocated from a factory run or made to order, and on ocean and inland freight. We confirm production and delivery time in writing on every quote before you order.
Are your products certified for North America?
Where a product needs certification for sale or installation (for example electrical cUL or cETLus listing, EPA-certified engines or ASTM E84 fire ratings) we check the documentation before we quote it as compliant. A badge on a product page means the certification is already on file. For anything else, ask and we will confirm in writing.
How does shipping work?
We consolidate goods from multiple factories into shared or full containers, handle the import paperwork and deliver to your site, store or warehouse. We serve customers across Ontario and ship to customers elsewhere in North America on request.
What are your payment terms?
Standard terms are 30% deposit to confirm the order and the 70% balance before the goods are released for delivery. Account terms for repeat customers can be discussed.
Can I get a sample first?
Yes. Samples are available for most product lines. Sample and courier costs are quoted up front and are usually credited against your first order.
Can you source a product that is not in the catalogue?
Yes. Custom sourcing is a core part of what we do. Send a photo, drawing, specification or a link and we will find matching factories and quote options. See our sourcing services page.
Do you offer private label or custom branding?
Many factories in our network can produce private-label packaging, custom colours and logo branding. MOQs for custom work are usually higher; we confirm them on your quote.
Are the photos and specifications exact?
Photos and listed details are representative. Final specifications, finishes, certification and packing are confirmed in writing on your quote before you order.
What does the TVD item code mean?
Every product has its own Thames Valley Distribution item code (for example TVD-130). Quote those codes when you contact us and we know exactly which item and variant you mean.
Who do you sell to?
Contractors, builders and developers, property managers, retailers, hospitality operators and institutions. We sell wholesale to businesses; individual project buyers are welcome to request a quote too.
How do I open a trade account?
Fill in the trade account application with your company details, business number and the categories you buy. We review it and contact you, usually within one business day.
